KALP in the TIME of COVID:

Please see a note to our donors during COVID-19

In September of 2018, the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board contributed $500,000 to our endowment, with the challenge that we raise a matching $500,000 within the next 5 years.

As of July 2020, we have raised $199,905 and aquired another $147,000 in pledges.

We need $153,095 to reach our goal.

2019 Donor List

How are we funded?

Philip Morris USA, along with participant fees and in-kind contributions from the University of Kentucky, provided funding for the first seven agricultural leadership classes from 1985 to 2005, which included participants from Kentucky and surrounding burley tobacco producing states. The first KALP class (exclusively Kentucky participants) was funded by grants from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, the UK College of Agriculture, Philip Morris USA, our generous donors and alumni, and fees from participants. Class XII and future classes are being funded from an endowment that originated with a $1 million investment from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board and contributions from agricultural organizations, agribusiness, alumni and other individuals, and participant fees.
