Class 14 Schedule
The Kentucky Agricultural Leadership Program (KALP) is accepting nominations for applicants for Class 14.
KALP is an intensive two-year leadership development program for young farmers and other ag related professionals. Successful Class 14 applicants will participate in eight in-state seminars and study seminars in Washington, DC; the Pacific Northwest; and Southeast Asia. The KALP curriculum encompasses a range of leadership development topics including leadership styles; personality types; values/mission/goals; civil discourse; communication skills; global markets and trade; and state, federal and international policy.
Seminars will begin in February 2024 and Class 14 will graduate in August 2025 to join 332 alumni of earlier classes. KALP alumni hold a wide range of local, state, and national leadership positions in agriculture and rural communities.
Tuition for Class 14
Funding for the program is provided by Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, participant tuition fees and contributions from agribusinesses, farm organizations, program alumni, and others supporting the program. Cash expenses for a class are approximately $300,000 or $15,000 per participant, with an additional $10,000 to $15,000 of in-kind expenses per participant.
To help offset the costs of the program, each participant will be required to pay $2,500. Financial assistance can be arranged for those who qualify. We do not want tuition to cause anyone to forfeit participation.
